I seem to remember you had to beg and wait in line for student jobs. Is $9 per hour not enough for a student?

I made $10/hour working at the parking office. I won't tell you the year because I'll always be a 22 year old on this site, but it wasn't recently.

It was never that difficult to score a student job when I was there. Granted wages were like $5.15.

I'm assuming you haven't been paying attention over the last 2 years or so to what is happening with our labor force

Man...I would've loved to work at the LSU Golf Course. They always used to say they got paid and got to play free golf. I probably would've wound up not being in good standing with the university because of that, but still.

Maybe they’re required to advertise?

$9 to be out on the golf course seems like a hell of a deal.

I made $8.50 an hour as a student job in 2009.

$9 seems low.

lol no

anyone who truly needs the money will wait tables, tend bar, etc. to make significantly more money.

Crap. I’m considering bugging out of the rat race. This would be perfect.

It wasn't that hard for me. I remember I started at $7/HR and thought that was good until my first raise when the minimum wage went to 7.25. All I was buying was fuel for a Toyota Corolla and beer.

ETA: and vehicle insurance.

$9 is absolutely horseshite because I made $12 at my indoor student job six years ago

I think this job is targeting college kids who don't really need a job, but because they get to be out on a golf course it will appeal to them.

Not if you have any actual bills. IDK if it's still the same but during semester you could only work 20 hours a week. You could cover your car insurance and some beer with that.

if they truly need money then why would they work for 9 an hour when McD is hiring starting at 13-15 depending on area.

Went there a few months ago for a tournament. The pro shop was depressing, zero inventory, half the lights out, two burnt out looking students sitting behind the empty counter. Sad
