Lawd help us if drug runners start using F250's. The OT will never be able to go anywhere.
I know several LSP and DEA guys. We have had multiple kidding conversations about this exact topic. I kid you not that you could probably move all the dope in the free world if you had cartel guys making deals with a typical good old baw from North or South LA running an F250 with truck nutz, Salt Life/Yeti stickers, and a dog box in the bed.

Not now. Thanks.

Their new thing is pulling people over for no lights on license plates.
I had to look up if it was really a law & it is. Makes absolutely no sense since license plates are designed to reflect light so that negates the need for lights on a license plates. It’s legal entrapment basically.

The dealer installed license plate frame obscuring the plate is an old ,well used crappy excuse to stop you. Could I have got in trouble if I said a “chickenshit “ excuse.?You know with our leader and all?

Sounds like they are looking for someone in particular and stopping anyone at that hour

You could always take that thing off and remove the excuse. Better yet, tell the dealer to keep its shitty license plate holder and its shitty emblem off your car.

Same thing here, caught a Stros game that ran long due to extras innings, I was pulled over 5 times between Houston and Beaumont. First cop was a total dick and almost arrested me for having a loaded weapon in the glove compartment. It was legal, I have a concealed carry permit.
The 5th time was a trooper in Beaumont, as he walked up on me I just said, officer ive been pulled over 4 other times in the last few hours and completly grilled, I'd just like to go home. He ran my plates, walked back and laughed. He told me they were looking for a vehicle similar to mine and to have a good night.

Not so new in Texas. Got pulled over in Vidor because my lights were burnt out on my plate. The cop was nice, told me to get it fixed at first opportunity. I joked with him that he really didn't pull me over just to tell me about that. He just smiled and said "well, it is the law". What do you think?

Troop D gonna troop D.
Troop D is literally the most corrupt law enforcement agency in the state. And that’s saying a lot.
ETA. They were looking for drugs all right. To turn around and sell themselves. If you don’t believe troop d does that then the jokes on you.

Texas DPS guys get their badge in a unique way. They actually get pinned through their arse from the governor of Texas. As he pulls his hand back through their guts to remove his hand, he also pulls out all their personality.

Drug interdiction? Don't these dumbass troopers know that the drugs are moved during the day when we can hide in the traffic?

Not exactly a new thing.. I’ve had friends get pulled over for this 10+ years ago.

I suspect the requirement originated in a time when the reflective paints used in plates aren’t as good as they are now. Still, there are plenty of situations where law enforcement would need to read a plate without headlights shining in it.
What blows my mind is that people get pulled over for this all the time, but not tinted plate covers..
