I hear ya. I was selling a very inexpensive car. Only people messaging me were thugs whose profile pic included guns, cash, and falling down pants.

I have sold a few used cars before and I tell them right up front of my two rules:
1. The first thing that happens is you show me your driver's license and I take a picture of it. I also take a picture of your car tag.
2. Only one person inside or near the car. If you come with someone else, that person stays in his car. If the other guy is a mechanic inspecting the car, then the first guy goes and sits in his car.

I'm lucky. I live on a major intersection. I just put a for sale sign on it and here they come. Always sell within 3 days.
