Don’t know about LC… but Monroe one of the most dangerous places in America

Why do these threads always end up focusing on Lafayette?

Because it’s easily the safest “large” city in the state.

There's something similar about these towns but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Exactly. Hell let’s even compare North side Lafayette to the hood areas of Monroe Alec Shreveport and LC. Guaran damn tee you it ain’t even close. The north side of Lafayette isn’t even bad. It’s just where majority of the black people choose to live. Just ordinary neighborhoods with very low violent crime rates compared to cities of its size in LA.
My grandparents still live on the Northside (pretty much everyone did before the 70's, Johnston was a two lane road line with farms up until then). Never really had any violent run ins but they have had lots of bikes stolen lol.

I love seeing the melt over Kenner. Yet it’s consistently in the top 10.

Say what you want, because you hate Mexicans or whatever else starts your period, but Kenner is a great place. Safety trumps whatever garbage you decide to complain about.

Kenna bra fo life!

Link me to all the violent crime in Kenner and Slidell

There’s not much, but when there is, you can follow The Slidell PD Facebook page. It can be entertaining at times.

A few years ago, National Geographic named Gretna as the per capita Arrest Capital of the United States of America. Make lots of arrests - crime goes down. Not that hard to understand.

LC has gotten really bad the past few years. It’s certainly up there with Shreveport these days. They are trying to be Beaumont.

Why would anyone live in Kenner or Slidell.

I live in New Orleans and am WAY safer in my part of town than those 2 shitholes.

Man, reading comprehension is not a strong suit I see. I said I didn't know about Monroe, not that it was safer.

The property crime statistics are suspect. If someone broke my car window in NOLA, even if called in, cops wouldn’t show up (therefore these types of crimes are underreported/under recorded in those areas). Not sure if that attitude bleeds over to Kenner, Slidell, and Gretna. If it happens in Sulphur, a cop will show up within ten minutes of the call.

Demographic wise, with the Hispanic population in Kenner, I’m guessing both the language barrier as well as not wanting to show your ID/fear of deportation/fear of the system/etc. would lead to crime being unreported.

ou’re high if you think Monroe and LC are safer than Lafayette. We’re strictly talking rough patches here. It ain’t even close.

I think the main difference is that the rough areas of the Lake Charles and Monroe areas are within the city limits, whereas the suburbs are relatively safe. The opposite is true in Lafayette. Carencro and New Iberia are a lot rougher than Moss Bluff and West Monroe.
