Better late than never. With Florida passing this last year it seems like Louisiana was sort of following their lead.

You’d assume they’d follow Texas’ lead

I hope it has the same provisions as CCW rules do that you have to notify LE you have one concealed during any official interaction with LE.

Uncommon sense 101. Again, criminals will not, but everyone I know that carries will no doubt let them (LE) know.

You're comparing apples and oranges. There is a world of difference between closely controlled military duty where the undeveloped brain doesn't know fear and the uncontrolled drunk that is on his own and fearing nothing, is acting like a fool. Ever hear "hold my beer and watch this"? There might just be something to it.

If you can legally own one, it shouldn't matter how you carry it. Just my .02....

The criminal element is already carrying illegally, anyway- because they aren't supposed to even possess firearms. And they'll continue to.

Are you seriously suggesting that an eighteen year old is safer in the military during a time of war than at home, or learning to drink at LSU or a neighborhood bar ?

Do you also think that once in the military that he isn't going to be out getting drunk every chance he gets and chasing poon ?

If the twenty sixth amendment guarantees eighteen year olds the right to vote, they should also be allowed full rights at that age, including drinking alcohol.

I'm not anti-gun, by any stretch of the imagination, but do believe in sensible gun control laws. This idea that the 2nd amendment is just carte blanche permission to own any weapon known to man and carry it with you wherever you want is just a straight-up bullshite, selective interpretation of the 2nd.
Bull shite. You can't have a Militia if they aren't armed to begin with.

Not sure a CHP holder always has more skill. Go to class, pass class, obtain license, done. I wonder how many take more classes to become proficient. It’s more than aiming and bang. There’s also safety that needs to become muscle memory.

The problem with constitutional carry is there's no way of knowing how proficient the gun owner may be.

There's no way of knowing how proficient a gun owner that wants to open carry right now is. There is nothing stopping first time gun owner Joe blow from walking into a store with a gun on his hip right now. He can't conceal it, but he can carry it.

The idea that after passing constitutional carry there will be hoards of people rushing to go buy a gun and tuck it in their waistband is misguided. Conceal carrying is too uncomfortable and inconvenient for most. All this does is removes unnecessary red tape to exercise a fundamental right, which is always a good thing.

The instructors tell us it is less than 1%

I did about 100 hours of training last year with instructors.

If I am going to carry, I ain't half assing it

This was a good argument back in the day when the draft was inacted, but doesn't hold any water now that the military is strictly volunteer. Or maybe we should pass legislation that enables military volunteers special status regardless of age.

Why do you need another man to teach you how to shoot? Just go to the range or out in the woods and practice until you’re good.

OK, nanny. Know what's supposed to be legal in this country? FREEDOM.
