If California is rated within the top ten, then this whole report is bogus.

The farthest you’ve traveled or experienced is Mississippi, isn’t it? Leaving Louisiana is the best choice I ever made. Try it sometime.

I mean, we shouldn't be # 50. Maybe in the bottom 5-10, but come on! There are at least a few states that suck worse.

Are you under the impression the whole state of California is LA? Sans the taxes rural northern California may be the best place to live in the country

Louisiana may be last but that publication itself is one of the most biased and unprofessional rags in the country. Florida and Texas should be 1 and 2 in any rational study.

I'll give you that. I've been running work in CA for a few months now. In San Jose (Bay Area) the people are pretty much fricktards, but my contractors from the east side of the mountains were actually pretty solid.

LA (Manhatten and Hermosa Beach in particular) is home to yet more entitlement-minded lib's.

Escondido and San Diego are much better, but still overflowing with Leftists on the whole.

Yeah, California has a lot of decent people, but the large coastal cities have fricked the whole state. It's really in dire need of a strong earthquake along the San Andreas fault line.

Geographically and based upon the flora, California is one of the most wonderful places on earth. Politically, however.....

Terrible political leaders consistently. One of the worst educations in the country as far as the schooling system goes. Crime rate through the fricking roof ranking one of the worst in the major cities. Poverty stricken at almost every corner in Louisiana safe from a few locations. Trashy af full of trash on the side of the road almost everywhere. Taxes SUCK and sometimes don't make sense. Destroya running NO. NO is a federal money pit that floods with every afternoon shower. Relies on federal money more than almost any other state in the country. Has some of the most unhealthiest population per capita in the country. Roads are still some of the worst in the country long after Mr. Long made an effort to fix these in his day. Some of the highest insurance rates on the road. Mass attrition to other states because almost everywhere else pays more job wise.

Yeah, I can see why it ranks dead last. I don't know how anyone can ride through Louisiana and not seriously be depressed looking at it. The state is like a long list of everything not to do or you'll end up like them. Just look at how it lost all their industry when NO use to be the shining jewel of the country.

I'd love Louisiana too if I was Amazon. They're so desperate for an economy builder like Amazon to come in they whore themselves out by giving them basically free taxes to operate here.

Stop voting for democrats like John Bel Edwards and RINOs like Clay Schexnayder and then it will get harder for the suckage to persist.

It's that simple folks.

Actually NO has a history of opposing industry -- in the 1850s many of the elite opposed railroads.

Why didn't New Orleans become the Southern Chicago? Perhaps the rise of Houston was unavoidable, but there was no inevitability to the ascent of Atlanta. The stock put down of the latter as "New York's Southern branch office" should reveal NO thinking.

During the last governors race we had the incumbent touting all his successes; balanced budget, growth in gnp, Medicaid expansion, etc. and he won over the guy telling us we need to change.

You get what you vote for.
