Not in every instance, as I read it. Plaintiff must stipulate his case is between $10K and $50K to require defendant to post $5K cash bond (within 60 days of requesting jury).

Anybody who thinks auto rates are gonna go down due to tort reform has their head up their rear end. Only thing that will changenis the bottom line for insurance ceo's. They thank you for your naivety.

Wild guess - but the 40% lines up with the typical 40% contingency fee that most plaintiff lawyers require in personal injury cases.
Attorney's fees are only allowed by contract or by statute. Did the legislature essentially just authorize attorney's fees in personal injury cases by statute?

State Farm announces continued premium reductions
Why does the insurance commissioner have to approve premium decreases?
Oh and there is this little nugget at the end.
Also, this is the largest % rate reduction in the last 4 rate reductions. 9.3% I believe. Is it just coincidence that it comes after the tort reform bill passed? I ask that because the other occurred because people were driving less, but now the state is opening up again and people are driving more.

Are you a defense attorney? You do realize it is a symbiotic system, right? Less plaintiffs filing suit or more obstacles in place for plaintiffs directly translates to less billables for defense attorneys. I just don't get how defense attorneys (of which I am one) don't get this.
