Did anyone ask him about the possible petition to revoke his EO?

I am willing to bet that no press conference tomorrow has something to this.

In operation "beat Trump", the Democratic party would like this next few weeks to consist of a media beatdown of FL, GA, and TX - which requires LA to be left out of it (at the moment).

But JBE is following Trump's re-opening plans.

By using regional numbers for a statewide order.

Do we seriously have to keep repeating that he’s not?

1) used regional data to make a state wide decision

2) the regional data did NOT show in increase in cases or hospitalizations.

Pick your bullet, JBE lied to us for 150 million in federal money.

Ideally, the GOP drafts the petition in the House, rallies the votes, and then tells JBE it will be passed on Friday if they following changes to his EO are not made - then simply list looser the social restrictions.

F that noise. I wanna see a fight. Let 'em go balls to the wall and see how it shakes out.

Antonio tried to counter my argument about a huge music festival being scheduled taking longer than 6 weeks to happen with a prescheduled tee ball Friday night with 10 teams playing across 12 fields. Which is maybe 500 people there at once on a good night.

33 games on Friday is around 800 players before you start counting parents, siblings, grandparents, plus practice times and the cages.

You are really, really bad with numbers.

And my point is simple - big crowds will become a reality the very first day the lockdown is removed.

You think he has that much humility? To just go back on his honor code word? He’s going to make them petition to revoke it, because he looks weak if he doesn’t. You can’t tell me he didn’t know this was a possibility Monday when he had the conference and announced the extension. If he didn’t, he needs better advisors.

Its 30 games. 12 players per team. 700 players. Coaches count as parents at that age. The people from the first game rarely interact with those from the last game. Like I said, closer to 1000 than 2000 and not “easily over” 2000 like your post said. You aren’t getting full families there during the time either. Grandparents will stay away. Both parents rarely get to go. My son is 6. I know how this works.

The point is that it’s nothing like a whole new big event which is what we are talking about because that’s what would be allowed after the last phase. Those things don’t come together quickly. So even if you open up next week, it would still take weeks to put something like that together. Hell, I’d bet for places that are entering phase one, those plans are starting for June. The comedy show I was supposed to be at in Nola on March 13th got rescheduled for June 25th I think. Bet that still happens.

It’s actually relevant to this OP. If the legislature enacts this petition, then we are suddenly open without restrictions. LSUGrrrl was afraid we’d have music festivals and large events right away. My point was that those things take time to plan and schedule. AM’s counter point was that he had a prescheduled tee ball game this Friday and lots of people go to tee ball games.

It's 33 - you forgot the softball league out there as well.

We'll use twelve players but most teams have more; these leagues play 10 in the field.

So that's 792 players.

I'll lowball it and say the average player has 2.5 people with them between parents, siblings, and grandparents.

That's 1,980 total people (again, low ball).

Like I said, about 2000 people a night.

At best, you'd have a minimum of 1,320 people at one time during the crossover.

Like I said, you aren't very good with numbers.

Confirmed but she won’t return unless she’s given talking points. This was just her drive-by jab at Trump. She is incapable or not paid to discuss actual topics.

Backing off your “easily over 2000” I see. And definitely not all at once and all interacting. 2.5 people per kid is going to be high given the times. And there will be some families with multiple kids playing.

You exaggerated no matter how you look at it. It’s not that many people there at once. They’re on a very large piece of land spread out. It’s prescheduled. It’s nowhere near comparable to a large event I was referencing. You can deflect to the specific numbers if you want. But they still don’t have anything to do with the point I was making.

Where are we getting the $150 million number from?

For the record, I agree he kept the state closed for federal aid. I just am curious about the exact dollar figure. Thanks!

No, but I low balled the numbers and still got to 1980.

I'll stick with 2000 easily in a night by the time you add everyone in.
