It’s not their job to keep you safe you nitwit. That’s you’re job.

Nevada’s isn’t statewide is it? I thought I heard a national broadcast also say Louisiana was the first to bring it back.

This pandemic has taught me that if you stick around in a state that continues to elect people like, Edwards, then you get what you deserve.

It's a shame, but I don't see it getting better. If you're an honest, upright, citizen that believes hard work and sacrifice is the only way to build a society; then - at this point - you're under attack by your elected officials and the criminals.

Get the hell out of there.

Anecdotal evidence is proving that they are. Over 80% of the people in hospitals are without vaccines. Considering mainly elderly have gotten it to this point, that’s pretty staggering.

The reason dumb people stay poor is because they trust their safety and well being to the government.

You're just plainly wrong. They are absolutely stopping severe illness, hospitalization, and death. That is a fact. Indisputable fact. Look at the % of folks in those categories that are unvaccinated.

Can the delta variant still be spread? Sure. But who cares.

I honestly don't give a frick if people get vaccinated. Your body, your choice. The government shouldn't mandate it either.

But at this point it is available to every adult so it's their call and just because a ton of largely dumb, poor white people or minority folks in all categories won't get it, don't frick over the lives of everyone else.

If the mandate was so important, why did it take 48 hours to go into effect?

Nevada has a metric for each county based on infection per capita and test positivity. There are ~ 5 counties with minimal population that are not currently at those metrics and therefore not subject to the mandate.

Louisiana is only state as a whole with a mandate.

Yes that’s what I meant

Louisiana is not the only state to do this.

But hey if randomletters dot com said it, it must be true!

Similar to how Mitch Landreiu led the charge by removing all the statues. Louisiana is "out in in front" yet again.

Perpetual? Come on. I'm not a progressive liberal, I'm just not a moron.

And I'm saying we're all victims of the government in this instance, not the unvaccinated. The government is allowing/forcing this to happen.

I don't give a frick if you're unvaccinated, I'm just tired of the government pushing mandates on us because of it.

Sometime in the early part of Jindal's second term, he decided to run for federal office. So he reformatted himself into what he thought would make him more appealing to national republicans. This conflicted with what republicans in Louisiana wanted out of him. And he miscalculated on what the national republican party wanted - since those voters moved away from social conservatism in the George W Bush era and towards classical liberalism and populism after 2010.

He miscalculated completely and got trounced by Donald fricking Trump in the 2016 primaries. Even republicans in Louisiana (who are usually down to earth people) related more to a billionaire that lived in the penthouse of his own 5th avenue skyscraper than their own former governor.

He had tremendous potential until he decided to run for president as Mike Huckabee lite.

What did JBE do in his first term beside wreck the state's economy?

Economic development is a major shortcoming of John Bel Edwards, especially with the residual momentum of the Jindal era.

JBE nailed the vaccine rollout though. Louisiana did a lot better and making those vaccines available as widely and as quickly as possible. Certainly better than Illinois did. So Edwards is not completely incompetent. He just has the wrong priorities for a state facing a huge brain drain.
