Just bought a vehicle in Tangi and they wouldn't put an inspection sticker because I live in EBR. Why don't you do both. Dumdasses

Get back to me when the state can provide inspection stickers that don't peel off the damn windshield.

Nothing really encompasses the absolute incompetency of this state more than that. A daily reminder.

It's so stupid that it could really be one of JBE's revenue ideas.

Nah this is on the LSP & sheriffs association. Every session someone tries to do away with the scam that is inspection stickers and these 2 groups throw a fit and get their way.

Wife's car went 14 years without one. My last car never had one in 9 years. Fight the power.

Now though, vehicles registered in La will be required to pay $10 every three months for the inspection of inspection stickers.

Why not just say we are adjusting the inspection fee/brake tag charge to 40 dollars a year/80 for 2 years instead of the every 3 month crap? Of course the unfortunate souls that live in refinery alley have their 18 dollar fee increased to 72 a year.

That is one problem of state budgeting. You set a rate fee in one year and don’t peg it to any logical rate of increase. How long has the fee been set at 10/18 a year? I would say vehicle inspection fees have been the same for a long time. But the cost of issuing tags and where the money spent has gone up.

If anyone remembers the other thing about the 2 year tag was that it was a money grab to begin with. The state was looking to cash in on future money by dangling a 2 year option. The state would get twice the money this year, but no money next year from the people with 2 year tags. Over time it does balance out as people purchase new vehicles.

The hallmark of the Jindal administration was changing sticker suppliers to one that does not stick. The biggest shame of the Edwards administration is that they have been unable to solve the problem.

Louisiana is obviously too dumb to run a sticker program, no matter who is in charge. Cancel that shite.

Just make everyone pay $10 a year to a sheriff/LSP slush fund instead, and the cops will suddenly shut the hell up about safety concerns.

You guys need to get rid of that shite. It's pure government nanny state taxation disguised as "protecting the roadways". Inspection stations love it because it's a sweet source of bribes.

Remember, the founding fathers of this country would be ashamed to see what has become of their country. Make them proud for once:

1. The glue on mine has never come off.

2. Y’all pay $10-$18?? The place I’ve been going has been charging me $25 every year. Wtf.

You're good...Until the time is right.

I have drove around for years without a sticker of any kind on my windshield and I have received exactly 1 ticket for it in 26 years of driving. Once the original sticker is expired, I just remove it and never get another one.
Time + cash = I'm net positive on this subject. Hell you can even pay tickets online in a matter of minutes now.
I'll gladly pay the random inspection ticket for not dealing with inspecting my <3 year old truck every year.

In EBR parish it’s only good for a year

I just got a new one yesterday in N.O. and it was $25 for a year. My truck is over 10 years old so I could not get the 2 year tag, even though it is in pristine shape and has less than 70K on the clock.

They just opened back up this past Saturday and mine expired in March, but there was no late fee since they were closed due to Covid19.

Inspection stickers are one of the biggest government shake downs.

Georgia too. We dropped them years ago (except for metro Atlanta which has air quality issues).

The one I'm real happy about is dropping annual ad valorem taxes on cars (which were paid when you renewed the car's tag) and going to a one time fee on a car purchase.
