I moved to Louisiana from Mississippi. No inspection sticker in MS. I tried to go get one and they said my front tint was too dark. What are my options? Are there places that just don't check?

Become good friends with someone who owns a garage/body shop which does inspection stickers.

Question is, is it worth the hassle? I bought a used car from a Sheriff Deputy with illegal tint (go figure) and just had the tint ship remove it and replace it with legal tint. Its nice not to have to worry about getting pulled over for tint.

Hell, I'm not in a small town and the last time I went they didn't look at my vehicle at all.

Keep your car registered in Mississippi and don't worry about it

Yeah, find someone who doesn't GAF. I had an issue with cracked windshield (totally does not obscure my view, been cracked for 2-3 years). Several places told me no, but was able to find one.

Or remove your tint.

We used to roll down the windows and pull the power window fuse. Tell the inspection guy that the windows don't work. Not sure if that will work nowadays, but that's how we got away with it in the 90s.

I've heard rumors that no inspection sticker ticket is a slap on the wrist but having an expired one is a lot more. This true?

Mississippi does not require vehicle emissions testing for cars that are registered in the state. However, cars with tinted windows are required to pass a vehicle safety inspection with a fee of $25.

Just don't even get one. Before we moved from LA to TN (no inspections) about 5 years ago, my inspection sticker was a good 5-6 years expired (and stayed on since it was before they switched to the shite glue they use for them now) and I never had a problem.

Such a money grab in our state. There's +/- 1.3 million registered vehicles in Louisiana. At an average of $15 every year for a sticker, that's +/- 19.5 million dollars a year. So stupid with all the regulations that new vehicle come from the factory with.
