We are gonna be without power for a min I think. Lots of feeder lines and tree limbs tangled up in them.. Light rain in SBR meow

Been without power since about 2PM. Lost water pressure about 6PM. Cooked supper on my butane stove and sleeping in the living room tonight witha space heater running off my generator.
Had a shite ton of branches fall in the yard, huge ones at that. Everything still covered in hardened snow and now ice.
Hopefully, Cleco gets power restored tomorrow.

At 7:25 I made my sleet comment and the ground was still pretty much clear. It changed from sleet to graupel to snow, and now we have right at 2" of accumulation. It is still coming down as heavy as it has the whole time. We are getting over an inch an hour.

Electricity restoration is not looking great in south BR. We've been out since 8AM Monday. What's worse for us is that is seems like the front of the neighborhood has power just not us in the back.

Meteorologist Nick Mikulas
I’ve gone over the data for tomorrow morning, and it looks like a trace to 0.05 inches of liquid equivalent of wintry mix may fall. Atmospheric profiles are borderline. I think it would be a little light sleet or freezing rain, but some flakes could mix in. This will most likely stretch around 20 miles either side of a corridor from Leesville to Pollock to Jena. This could be nothing, and certainly will feel like nothing compared to the last few days of winterthundermageddon. Since bridges and roads are already pretty messed up, don’t even worry about what falls. It won’t be heavy enough to cause more water damage, and any sort of road issues are already there. It’ll stay near freezing for a high tomorrow, but we should start a slow warming trend by Friday. The new thing to watch for is falling icicles. Seriously, check your surroundings. I hope any damage you’ve sustained is covered, and your power outage is brief if you had one. I rarely plug things here, but a major shout out to Farm Bureau Insurance. They were on the ball with my water damage. They’ve also dealt with my car getting stolen, and a dog eating my fenders, so it’s cool that they haven’t blocked my number.

it's been 32 degrees for 8 straight hours at AEX
Posted on 2/17/21 at 9:21 pm to rt3
Out of all this it looks like this coming Saturday morning will be our coldest morning in the low teens. A full week after we first went below freezing.

Is the 3 straight hours of rain at 34 degrees in EBR making anyone else think about closures for tomorrow??

We are to get above freezing on Friday...seems like forever
Single digit lows tonight and again tomorrow night
Hope to exit my cave Sunday afternoon

For the DFW people in here...
(D-FW weather records go back to 1898)

This ties the 2nd coldest temp ever recorded.
On Jan. 31, 1949 the temperature also dropped to -2°.
The only time it has been colder was -8° back on February 12, 1899.
3 days in a row of record lows

WAFB & WBRZ both show 37 which is up from earlier
Dr. Josh says there’s still a chance some areas could hit 32 but most will have lows in mid 30’s
