Man, this is a white out. Seriously unreal. Abd I kid you not, the house across the street caught fire and is being fought. Contained but they've lost one side and no doubt a couple of rooms upstairs. Started in their study fireplace. Pretty sad scene.

I was worried about that with everyone getting firewood and using fireplaces and chimneys that may not have been maintained well. Be careful, folks!

I made sure to quote you for that update. I didn't see you call the word of the thread, though.

My Alexa also said low of 21 tonight. I even asked her for the date. Not sure what is wrong but that’s way off, clearly.

Remember, if you saw me on KALB at 5:00, I’m a meteorologist. I’m not a handyman, I’m certainly not a roofer, and to be honest, apart from this small niche I’ve carved out in the world, I’m not that bright. The way I tried to “fix” my ice dam wasn’t the recommended thing to do. But when water is rolling in my house in 3 spots, I’m gonna go ahead and try a panic fix. Apologies to all the men and women that actually know how to properly fix things.

I remember Katrina's winds blowing water up into my (now-deceased) grandparents' metal roof

as soon as it was realized that water was getting in... my dad and grandfather grabbed a tarp... went into the attic and patched something up so it would stop leaking into the house

I went outside to check on my vehicle and it’s got a nice quarter of an inch of ice glazed on it from head to toe.
