Which tribe has land down in Point Aux Cenes?
There is a road down there named Island Road that I guess was easily washed away in years past that now has a shite ton of rocks and some man made barriers protecting it. There are just a few shitty camps/houses down toward the end of the road.
I asked one time why that road was so important and was told there was some tribal land that used to be accessible by that road.

I went to a concert during the annual Pow Wow in Marksville a few years back where tribal members each get their share of the casino profits. That casino had buses pulling in filled with tribal members from all over, it seemed.
I'm not sure what the requirements (like ancestry percentage) are to claim tribal membership- but let's just say those requirements must have been pretty lenient.

It is profoundly sad that the Houma Indians are not Federally Recognized.

That would be the Point-au-Chien Indian tribe. Pretty sure they’re state recognized.

State of Wisconsin with 11 tribes and 5 reservations
We have a lake house in Northern Wisconsin and to get there we had to drive through the Menominee reservation...
- It would change from farm land and straight roads to dense forest and curvy roads immediately. My brother used to get car sick and puke and my dad would get so pissed at him
- Sometimes to get some money for the weekend dad would pop into the casino for half an hour and play some blackjack, we'd all wait in the car
- One time a little Indian shot a bottle rocket at our car (a full size Ford station wagon with wood paneling) so dad turned the car around and we went straight to the house. Guy inside yells "come on in" and dad yells "no, you come out here!" I think he was a tribal elder because he was an old Indian dude with two long gray braids. Pretty funny.
Good times.

The Choctaw-Apache Tribe of Ebarb is located in western Sabine Parish. Officially recognized by the state of Louisiana in 1978, Tribal members continue to live on these ancestral lands. The community is the second-largest American Indian tribe within Louisiana.
Ancestors of the tribe include Choctaw bands who migrated to the area before 1800 and were resettled by the first U.S. Indian Agent in the region. John Sibley; Lipan Apaches including former captives; Adai, and the peoples of the Spanish East Texas missions and presidios including Natives, Spanish soldier-settlers, and French traders

Greg Procell, who has held the national high school basketball scoring record since 1970, is a Choctaw-Apache from Ebarb.

Did the Attackapas (sp) all eat each other and wipe themselves out?
Nah. They just ate enemies.
The Attakapa were known for being fairly primitive compared to other tribes.
