The WBRZ article didn’t list the charge. What charges are they specifically?

ETA: first article had it

quote:

All three were charged with criminal abortion by means of abortion-inducing drugs, a felony.

No

You didn’t tell them to use it. I would assume it’s legal to have

This case may open slippery slopes… I don’t want New York or California possibly prosecuting me when I’ve never been there just because I did something they don’t like.

Apparently it is easier to got an online doc to prescribe abortion pills than it is for an online vet to prescribe Apoquel for my dog.

Anything is legal to have if they don’t know you have it

The doctor probably prescribed it to the mother, not the daughter.

Abortion is not legal in LA, the Dr. should still be held liable for prescribing and shipping an abortion pill to someone in the state.

If the mother got the pill from the doctor and gave it to the daughter without her knowledge, they should BOTH be rung up on Murder 1 and sent to Angola.

It's illegal to mail weed. Anyone in your home could be charged with at least possession (local/state). Whoever mailed it could face federal drug trafficking charges for mailing an illegal substance. The feds could charge the person receiving it with trafficking also, I guess.

Mom is the stem winder here. She ordered the meds and gave them to the underage daughter. The end result isn’t on the doc.

There are no slippery slopes here. It’s clearly illegal to prescribe this drug and send it into Louisiana. New York will have to comply with an extradition request.

A federal court will order her to do so. The governor has no choice.

quote:

A person charged in any state with treason, felony, or other crime, who shall flee from justice, and be found in another state, shall on demand of the executive authority of the state from which he fled, be delivered up, to be removed to the state having jurisdiction of the crime.

Article IV, Section 2 of the Constitution requires it.

Hope the good Doctor enjoys her visit to Port Allen.

So I can venmo a hooker in Vegas where it’s legal and she can fly to Louisiana to have sex with me where it’s not?

Louisiana isn't a signatory to UCEA if I wanted to mount a challenge to an extradition request I would start with this as my basis.

Even done correctly NY would probably lose but they could drag it out a long time.
