So if a person tests positive…and then a week later they take another test and test positive again….I assume that counts as 2 positive cases and not just 1?

I would be extremely hard to imagine anything is taken into consideration regarding positive tests other than the fact that it’s a positive test.

Reason #3,543,897 why # of new cases is a GARBAGE stat and SHOULDN'T BE REPORTED!!!!

Have they ever given the percentage of tests from more than a week ago?

It’s the % of positive cases not from jails or nursing homes

It was started last week to show why we can’t go to phase 3

As much as I hate to admit it, the trend is enough to support the pause at phase 2.

The state cleaned up all 1600 duplicate tests already

Since yesterday, 17,341 new tests have been reported to the state. The majority of these tests were collected between June 19 and June 26

I like how they can provide a precise percentage of how many cases are community spread, but if you want to know how many of the tests are current, it's just "a majority" - could be anywhere between 8,800 or 17,000. That shouldn't be hard to keep track of.

No I know what the community spread is, but saying a majority are from within the week leaves a lot up for interpretation.

Raw numbers of positive tests, alone, isn’t enough to justify any restrictions.

Agreed, but that’s the only thing the government is talking about

I appreciate OP and his effort. These numbers meanwhile are just futile.

Let the strong live. Let the weak and paranoid stay home.

To hell with phases.

And what happens when employers force those people to go to work?

You're right... but just you wait... I'd be shocked if there aren't more restrictions in place before more are lifted.

Ok, but that wouldn't even be a concern if we used a stat like mortality rate, positivity rate or hospital resource usage when making a decision.

What about duplicate positives?

And you’re wrong anyways.
