Hmmm...I wonder why they gave such a more complete breakdown of the numbers.

I still see the same people on Facebook saying they won’t wear a mask but I’ve only seen like 3 people over the past two weeks who were walking around sans mask at stores. Probably helps that I don’t shop at trashy places like Walmart.
Seems like we’re pulling through. I’m very interested to see what happens this winter because most people are predicting it to be bad again mixed with flu season but we haven’t seen any areas that have had 3 spikes. Can Louisiana make history again?

All leading indicators are improving daily.
As for the seasonal thing, it just doesn’t seem like season affects this virus the way it affects ordinary flu. When we were in late winter it was spreading just as quickly in Southern Hemisphere countries where it was still summer. And it’s spreading strongly here while not as much in Australia and New Zealand, who are in winter.
In my limited understanding, a lot of the seasonality of the flu has to do with its spread being aided by migrating birds. Covid doesn’t seem to need seasonal bird migration to spread.
In other words, my non-expert working opinion is that we can contain this virus (or not) in any season by acting in manners which impede the spread.

Yeah, I'm not sure if its that the virus will spread easier in the winter (it seems to be spreading easily in the summer), but I think there is worry about the typical flu hospitalizations plus any covid hospitalizations causing health care strain. They've damn near tested everybody in Louisiana now though.
