That appears to be the lowest testing number since May 24th, and the first time under 5,000 since Sunday, June 14th's numbers.

Need to get some more coupons to hand out.

Edit to add: low numbers will no doubt be blamed on the hurricane, perhaps rightly so.

Yeah, so?

These tests were ALL supposedly collected between last Monday and Sunday, according to Twitter.

What was yesterday's count date range?

State offices were closed three days last week, even longer for those affected parishes. Testing centers were shutdown...

It's going to be used to account for the low number of tests while pointing at the "high" positivity.

There are probably more deaths from Laura than the Rona for people in Louisiana.

This is a fricking clown show. Open everything up. 100%.

I’d expect #’s to be low all week since testing sites were closed all week last week

I'd like a death count on Hurricane related deaths due to shelters not being open because of the super duper scary Covid. Thank you.

Well, that probably wouldn’t be your best argument as the hurricane death toll is in the teens vs COVID deaths surpassing that daily.

I agree, but apparently pointing that out doesn't matter since they dumped 40k tests yesterday.

Again, who cares about cases? Hospitals aren’t being overwhelmed, restrictions should be lifted.

#MasksWentBackinTimetoPreventCases

Edit to add:
Damn, it really is very striking how little masks did, as in they did nothing, in this graph:

I love this post. It’s almost like cases started spiking when tests started ramping up

The cases yesterday dated back to JULY FIRST. They dumped a shite ton of back logged bullshite. They’ll dump a bunch tomorrow in their typical Tuesday bump they do every week.

The most important graph in this thread

The percent positive barely changed in this “second wave”. The testing just increased dramatically and created a false spike. This pandemic has been on its way out for a long time now
