Mental gymnastics to pander. I wish they would put that much effort into fixing shite!

What doesn’t make sense about that?
There is no fricking task force or mention of the areas where more whites are dying
There is no special doctor like the one he had weeks ago telling the white people to be safe and what to do

I’m following along here and not watching the PC, so just thinking out loud, bear with me. I would imagine the disparities toward blacks are happening in more urban areas both less equipped while also inundated.

I'm also not watching. Has he acknowledged that the state is trending very favorably right now?

Ascension parish is one of the areas with the biggest disparity for black deaths....
It goes like this
If more white are dying than should be:
crickets
If more black people are dying than should be:
task force, attention, virtue signal

"Over the last few weeks we have seen modest and steady improvement on cases," @LouisianaGov. "Unfortunately we have not seen that on the number of deaths."
I want to caution everybody that we still have an overburdened hospitals right now. Several have zero ICU beds available." @LouisianaGov
Edwards says the state would have "well over 2,000" covid patients in hospitals today if he didn't put in the mask mandate/bar closure. That's based on the trajectory the state was on before the new mandates. #lalege #lagov

Temperature checks are next to worthless.

That doesn’t really address my deduction but our thoughts on race relations sound fairly in tune.

I don't like to bash on JBE like others (aside from his smacking), but he knows he's being disingenuous. This was the same guy yelling that deaths were a lagging indicator a few weeks back when cases were high but deaths were still low. With the lowering of cases right now, we should see fewer deaths in a few weeks.

Some mask data for whoever wanted it
First is study by folks from MIT and Harvard
“Face coverings lower the Covid-19 death rate by 5%, study claims - and the effect doubles when medical masks are given to the elderly and people who already have the virus”
LINK
If you want some real life numbers in South Carolina
“According to state health officials, compared to jurisdictions without mask ordinances, places that do have one have shown a more than 46% decrease in the total number of COVID-19 cases during the four weeks after the requirements were implemented.
In the same time frame, total cases in jurisdictions without mask requirements have gone up more than 30%, health officials said.
“This new data shows us what we already knew, wearing face masks works,” Bell said

This doctor has been fooling with the inside and outside of his mask as he speaks and then touching all over the podium. Isn't that one of things no recommended by these folks?

Now do social distancing & not speaking to random people in public

Does that mean at a 1.5% mortality rate like La it brings people back to life or the 1.5% mortality rate drops to 1.425%?

I won’t argue that staying away from people helps
I have also never argued that masks are a 100 percent thing. They help

But 95 deaths instead of 100 doesn’t seem material enough to force people to wear masks
Also, does that study assume proper mask usage?

The head of LDH touched her mask / face over 70 times when taking to legislature about ending JBE’s executive power
quote:
Dr. Rani Whitfield, a well-known Baton Rouge physician called as an expert witness, said the governor’s restrictions are helping keep cases from soaring uncontrollably.
“He was following the science,” Whitfield said. “These recommendations are coming from the CDC ...That’s all we have to follow.”
Whitfield added that if the restrictions were lifted, “we would probably see a lot more people die.”

What is reality when it comes to herd immunity?
We don’t live in a tribe in the jungle. We live in a highly complex society with all sorts of genetic differences.
70% could be a conservative estimate. Even if it was 50% it would be long arse way from where we are now
