Some recent data shows you may only need 20 percent with masks and social distancing to get to population immunity.

Add in a good chance of natural immunity due to exposure to other coronavirus and we are good. shite is ending! We are getting there.

It's an ASSUMPTION built into a model.
Models are not real life.

Based on all of this...it's looking like it falls in the 10-20% range.
But there are lots of factors that go into, density and whatnot. Also, it may be that low only under certain conditions (i.e. a higher number needed for mass protests or crowded bars).

Tried finding the data on their website to check the numbers, but I had no success. It's basically a "they said it so we've got to believe them" thing at this point, while being touted as proof.
Likely being deceptive with numbers, context, and timing of things. Just like the guy in Kansas did this week.
Off the top of my head, see California, Hawaii, Peru, Hong Kong, Philippines, and Japan for "proof" that mask mandates don't prevent infections.

Well the timing of a “mandate” doesn’t necessarily mean that is when people did or didn’t wear masks. Some populations are going to be more compliant without a mandate and some populations aren’t going to be compliant even with a mandate.

Hospitalizations updated for the graph. Acadiana's hospitalizations peaked on July 22nd with 304 hospitalizations. Currently sitting at 192 on August 13th: down 112 hospitalizations since peak.
Looks like a 39 person decrease from yesterday to today overall for Louisiana and a 15 person decrease on ventilators.

Considering the peak days of positive tests showed the days leading up to the Louisiana mask mandate were the highest. The 7 day average peaked on the day of the mask mandate which means cases were already headed downwards.
The percent positive peaked a week prior to the mask mandate.
It isn't evidence that masks work or don't work. Just that the turnaround wasn't responsible for the turnaround.

I hear ya. If I remember correctly he also said there was going to be a mask mandate several days before it happened.
Again, it is more of what and when people actually DO something, as opposed to the day something actually goes into effect.
And if in real life everyone stayed way away from each other then that would be all you need.
