Was 23 on Monday for the "soft opening" per JBE.

Hope he discusses it today in the press conference.

My cousin was put on ventilator last night.

My mom has had a fever and started coughing over the weekend. My folks are up in Monroe. I told her that she needed to get tested and she did Monday morning and just got the results back, which is a positive. They are en route back to the Dr. so she can get the malaria drug shot. The doc says he thinks she is about 10 days in from getting it and she is starting to have difficulty breathing. Lord Jesus I hope she doesn't have to go to St. Francis and be put on a ventilator. '

This shite just got real for me.

Wouldn't surprise me. They've already put May 4 as a target date. They could very well keep that because most people are strangers to common sense and would interpret gradual reopening to everyone rush out and start groping and coughing on people.

i mean most state agencies are already closed until then. i don't see why the government would make different deadlines for different people

Is Louisiana not tracking that? They're supposed to.

The number of active cases is way more important than the total number of cases since the beginning.

Why has NOT ONE freekin media outlet mentioned the recoveries?
Why cant they give us a fuggin break from the Deaths, Dying, Dead mantra?

Because we don't have enough resources to handle that.

Yep, good numbers in the grand scheme.
JBE might have to cut that stay at home order by a week or so.
4/27/20 would be my target date to slowly reopen everything except for large gatherings. Let the people who can continue to work from home, restaurants at 50% capacity, no movies or bars for a little while longer and no gatherings over (insert # here).

They asked about it at press conference a week or so ago and JBE said they were essentially just focused on the active cases. Would have to test to confirm recovery and tests were in short supply IIRC

Probably need to use a certain amount to get reimbursed by the feds. Whether it is needed or not.

You folks don't have Easter parades and floats, do you?

Easter is a huge holiday for my family and we usually have huge gatherings. Large crawfish boil on Friday or Saturday then full Easter brunch will all cousins, close family friends, etc. I survived Mardi Gras without dying so I’ll just eat my crawfish with my husband and son. Huge bummer.
