I never said it wasn’t a big deal. Just that the mortality rate of 3.9% is grossly inaccurate.

Imagine using this as your justification to downplay the seriousness of a global pandemic.
What the state is doing is actually downplaying the situation by posting inaccurate information. Remember the boy who cried Wolf?
If they want people to take this seriously… Then be serious about how you report the information. That includes the accuracy of the data.
Count the kid as a confirmed positive test…But not as a death.

You are comparing two different things.
Yesterday, there were 18029 total tests (commercial and state lab)
The 18,883 number is total testing as of today by commercial labs (this excludes the state lab)
Today's total test numbers are 21359 (both commercial and state lab)
That's a difference of 3330. Of those newly reported 3330 tests, 441 were positive. That is 13.2%

Focusing on rates instead of hard numbers is messing folks up. Focus on the total number of deaths. That’s a hard number. I said this yesterday, why is La. deaths increasing in the same amount as the number of Italian deaths in roughly the same time frames? It doesn’t add up. Jumping from 83 to 119 isn’t good. That’s 36 more deaths. Will we have 50 more tomorrow?

Random Aneurysmsand the like will be counted. Any and every death will be counted regardless of cause of death here in Louisiana
And we have had that counted from our health system alone

The heart failure was quite possibly caused by the virus.
Organ failure of some type is the usual final cause of death

they may be counted deaths that occurred 3,4,5 days ago.....and tomorrow may be a lower number because maybe they 1) didnt count a death as COVID-19 or 2) they are going back and editing some deaths as non COVID that were once counted as COVID

Haven’t posted in over a month. Won’t post anymore either besides a few covid threads in which I have direct knowledge of inaccurate info due to my direct line of work

And the overall testing positive hung right below 13%. Which is a positive sign.
