Your governor didn't do much more than what the Ag department ordered.

I mean, general respect for your area is to not burn shite during drought conditions.

Do y’all not deal with burn bans very often? We’ve been lucky this summer to have some rain but a couple of years ago we had a couple decent stretches of burn bans.

The reality is that the majority of people really have no idea when their area is in a burn ban. Communication is lacking in that regard, and care from the general public even more so.

How does one even start a grass/brush/forest fire by BBQing in a closed in pit anyway? I must not be BBQing with the same ferocity others are

Some people dump ashes that are still hot is the only thing I can think of

My off set smoker has been known to drop a few hot coals from time to time.

Anyway, who the hell wants to be smoking or gilling anything right now? High is 109 in Houston today

If you’re grilling on a Weber with charcoal it’s not hard for some sparks to get out, especially when you dump the coals out of the starter.

When it’s dry enough to constitute a legitimate burn ban it doesn’t take much.

Bring your steaks in and do a little sous vide or hit them with a nice cast iron skillet sear.

Burning shot is one thing. Cooking outside in a contained pit on concrete is another.

Or, I will use my grill on a completely concrete area and live my life like a rebel. The same way I lived it during Covid by trusting my immune system instead of a long-term, untested drug which is not a vaccine.

Nothing wrong with using a gas grill I would think? We've been in a burn ban for a month or so and gas grills are not included in the ban, but charcoal and fire pits are.

Considering there are multiple wildfires in Louisiana and we do not have the infrastructure to fight a large break out, take the kids to Outback and be a decent fricking human being.
I swear, if JBE told you the sky is blue, you'd put on red tented glasses and call it a Democrat conspiracy.
