Shoulda bought a Traeger, baw. I hear they come with their own fire suppression complete with sprinklers, hoses, and retardant. Works best if you use the Traeger brand retardant foam, though.

Are you suggesting when you drop hot coals into a grill from a starter that it doesn’t throw hot ash?

That hot ash can’t light grass on fire?

I’ve seen it happen. In person.

The reality is that the majority of people really have no idea when their area is in a burn ban. Communication is lacking in that regard, and care from the general public even more so.

Yup, and never forget that common sense escapes most people.

If it hasn't rained in a month, don't burn stuff.

Smokers are the best though. Just find their butts all over the roads like it's nobodies Business

i won’t say it’s impossible, but that’s not going to stop me from firing up the grill.

The odds of starting a massive fire from your Weber grill are very slim. Meanwhile folks can still light up a cig which are much more likely to cause these types of fires.

Where private burning, use of grill pits and small campfires were allowed under the previous ban, this type of burning is now prohibited.

This seems unclear to me. Are they referring to bbq pits here? I’ve never heard them referred to as “grill pits.” Sounds like a camping bbq where you dig a hole in the ground

Imagine getting this mad over someone saying it’s maybe best practice not to try to burn shite down when you’re in a drought.

Bless your hearts.

I am not mad. However, I am not going to let some jackass tell me whether or not I can grill a steak.

There was a big fire that took out about 10 camps in the Pirate Cove area of Toledo Bend just a couple of days ago. We're going to the camp on Lanan (in Toledo Bend) this coming wknd and had planned on smoking a brisket in my WSM. It sucks a little but it's too easy to change the menu vs rolling the dice and some freak accident burns down countless homes/camps just because we had to have smoked brisket.
