I swear, if JBE told you the sky is blue, you'd put on red tented glasses and call it a Democrat conspiracy.

considering what is starting the vast majority of fires why hasn't he banned cigs??

You'd be more accurate to say ignorant fricks burning trash and lightning, but that doesn't make for as good of a comment.

Statistically speaking, lightning has very little to do with it.

When your or someone's actions cause harm or loss to others, that's where your freedom stops.

I know in a previous release we received pertaining to bbq pits, the reason behind the more stringent and specific parts of the ban is because many debts were being called to fires and our bright residents had decided since the hurt ban didn't include bbq pits they would light their trash up in their pit.

Which would still have embers floating iut into their yard or dry areas, which with how dry we are is enough to spark a fire.

As far as cigarettes, it is always illegal and banned to flick them out, it is littering but it isn't always so easy to have an officer there at the moment it happens.

Funny, every day for the last three days we've watched thunderstorms with ample lightning roll through the worst threatened area in Louisiana, and every day afterward we have seen new fire starts as a direct result. Or, maybe it was just smokers following the storms flicking cigs out of the window.

Statistically, it is lower than some other causes, but that doesn't mean it isn't an issue, and that doesn't mean it hasn't contributed to Louisiana wildfires.

Power lines have started some by being knocked down. Some cigarettes, tractors and ATV’s. When it’s this dry it doesn’t take much.

It’s unlikely a grill sets off a huge fire but it definitely can happen in drought conditions. The fines will be crazy if it happens.

Well, sure. It’s the most likely natural cause. Burn bans are just trying to eliminate as many variables as possible for igniting a brush fire. Unextinguished campfires are fairly high on the list of common human starters.

Do y’all not deal with burn bans very often?

I can't really recall any others although I'm sure it's happened before. South LA is one of the wettest climates in the country usually.

Most people can't recall them because they get very little coverage until fires start kicking off. I'd imagine Louisiana had them extensively in 2011 and 2012 when pretty much the entire state was in an long term drought worse than this one.

They know they can’t enforce shite but you will be held accountable if it causes a fire
