Loud mufflers - the real epidemic in Baton Rouge

Has anyone else noticed a massive increase in the prevalence of “loud” cars around BR over the past 3-5 years?
And it’s not just that they have aftermarket exhaust kits.. it’s that they are getting louder. It seems like every Ram 1500, V6 Mustang, and early-2000’s Honda Civic in the parish has open headers nowadays. Siegen Lane sounds like a fricking race track most days. Even in my normally quiet neighborhood, some doucher rattles my windows at least once or twice a day.
What say the OT? Have you noticed this? Is this what getting old feels like? Get off my lawn.

I think plant baws get a sign on bonus if they have a loud exhaust kit on their truck

I almost never hear actual open headers, but then again I actually know what they sound like.

not many things annoy me more than an obnoxiously loud truck/car
some teenager down my street just got a new truck and its loud as frick and he is so goddamn proud of it
who the frick is telling these kids that loud trucks are cool?

I don't think it's just Baton Rouge. I'm in Houston and I go for walks at night around a residential area with a main boulevard running through the middle. I live near the main boulevard also. I can't stand when I hear a car coming 20 seconds away and it passes and I hear it for another 20 and it's some generic arse Honda Civic or light truck that sounds like they cut the muffler off.
Why would you do that? What kind of idiot spends money to make everyone in their neighborhood hate them?
I'd be pissed if I lived in quiet area and had one of these jacklegs as a neighbors son.
Also, I live a mile from 290 but I hear the 'packs' of crotch rockets several times a day sounding like they are hauling arse. Whatever man, some of those people have a death wish with these erratic and distracted drivers.

Teens have been doing this shite for decades dumbass. I did it over 10 years ago to a v6 mustang. I got the catalytic converters cut off and ran 3 inch tubing into flow master 40's. It was loud as hell and most people though I had a V8, unless I got above 4k rpm, then it sounded like a weed eater.

The japanese motorbikes racing around in groups seem to be the loudest now. These run at all house of the day, and you'll hear them on the interstate at night.

I was an idiot who thought a loud car was cool when I was younger, I hate it now. My Dad told me he got a brand new muffler on his car in the 70's and he thought it was too quiet after, so he put holes in it with a screwdriver. Young men are morons, if you are over 30 and still running around like that, idk.
