Sorry for your loss man. I have one who just passed 10 years of age and is getting gray. I know it’s gonna hurt bad when he goes. I pray you find peace.

Lost my best friend of 47 years last month. Not sure losing my little 11 lb buddy wouldn’t hurt the same or even more.
Yeah lost my mom (best friend) almost a year ago and I have been taking care of her dog. She is 15 and declining.....not sure how I'm going to function when her time comes.

Only God loves you more unconditionally than your dog does. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. It's not something we get over, it's something we get through. Feel for you

Man I'm sorry, all I can say.
Think of all those great years and tough times she helped with just by being there.
When you are ready, go to the pound or shelter and get a new buddy that needs a good home.

RIP Dixie...sorry for your loss. Always gut wrenching.
We've had 6 dogs during my adult life and put down our last one back in July. Dogless for the fist time since '92. Gonna see how it goes for a while, but it's a weird feeling coming home to an empty house...miss my little armrest Toby.

Dixie had congestive heart failure and the medicine they put her on kept her vibrant for almost 2 years, but it caused her kidneys to fail.
Still thankful for the medicine to keep her going for that long. We had another 2yrs of adventures and love in a house once empty.

We lost our Stella Saturday after 13 years of unconditional love. My heart still aches today. Sorry for your loss.

My friend Stella VIolano painted this ... it is used by several FB groups who deal with grieving over dogs.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.”
