Just pull all police from predominantly black areas. Tell them to use the funds to police themselves.

If they cut their budget, they really should stop patrolling these low income areas. Focus their efforts where most of their tax dollars come from.

The LAPD has a 1.8 billion dollar budget? There is certainly some room to cut things.

Look at the Zuckerberg 100million ( which was matched to equal 200 m ) for Newark schools ( honorable mayor cory booker) the following mayor (barka)
"
The money "didn't go to the city, and it didn't go to the school system either. It went to a foundation that made decisions about what the money should be spent on," he said at a Wall Street Journal conference on Wednesday. "You can't just cobble up a bunch of money and drop it in the middle of the street and say, 'This is going to fix everything.' You have to engage with communities that already exist ... To parachute folks in, it becomes problematic."
...."Much of the $200 million went toward buying out contracts of underperforming teachers, which also served as a cost-saving move, The New Yorker reported in 2014. Sixty million dollars was funneled into charters — schools that are privately run but publicly funded — and millions more went to $1,000-a-day consultants."

Then, of course, that would be racist.

Isn't white a color and so is brown?

Black is the absence of light. ... Some consider white to be a color, because white light comprises all hues on the visible light spectrum. And many do consider black to be a color, because you combine other pigments to create it on paper. But in a technical sense, black and white are not colors, they're shades.

(Brown is def a color.)

This crap is getting quite funny.

Officers are gonna be flooding out of departments at an even higher rate than they already are.

“Why are officers patrolling to help our communities with crime?”
Well i wonder why

90% of this money will go to high paying public positions for people politically connected.

Always ask yourself, who benefits the most from poor black people.

Might apply to be a cop in LA. Just sit in my car all day as the city burns. But I won't watch it burn because I'll be on tigerdroppings.

Law and Order.

the city will try and cut between $100 million to $150 million from its police budget alone.

Less money to hire, train, and equip COMPETENT and QUALIFIED police officers.
quote:

to invest more money into the black community, communities of color, women and “people who have been left behind."

The same communities that will be underserved by an underfunded, poorly trained, and short staffed police force. The cries of "Where are the police?" will echo through the streets.
quote:

the money will be distributed “now, not years from now.”

Let me guess, the NAACP will be tapped as a leading organization that will receive the lion's share of the money and be responsible for its management? Local mom and pop types who actually care about the communities they live in and serve will still struggle to stay afloat, leaving many to fold without the proper funds?

The law of unintended consequences is real, and it is magnified when coupled with knee jerk, placating actions brought about by weak willed politicians.

People are protesting that police are under qualified and under trained and their solution to the problem is to CUT funding?
