Federal government can’t step in? Why does it stop at a democratic official?
In Texas, the governor is controlling what the local government can mandate. Why can’t the federal government stipulate what Cali can do?

This only applies to the proletariat, not the party leader politicians (elites). Please be more careful when reporting these things (sarcasm).

As always, mitigation measures will have no true effect on spread and have likely been enacted after the peak.
You are right about "after the peak", but you are dead wrong about mitigation measures having no effect. It would be interesting to hear you try to defend that nonsense. Do you understand how CV-19 spreads? Do you understand that if contact among people is reduced than the virus spread is reduced? These don't seem like controversial ideas to me. It feels like I'm arguing about what becomes of a dropped object.

This is so fricked up.

Okay maybe you hover below the 60 threshold. Do you understand that the USA is a constitutional republic?

Now you double down and drop below 40...I can’t help stupid!

It’s called federalism.
The bedrock of our country.
Read a book.

They shutdown dining. Period. Indoor and outdoor.

LA officials don't want to wait in line at nice restaurants

Go to the Los Angeles subreddit, they’re all bitching about the lack of a federal bailout.

Unless it can be taxed. Like tobacco. That kills far more people every single year.
But it's OK. Revenue.

Congrats to all that elected Dim's like Biden, Newsome and the rest of the libs. This is what you voted for, this is what you gave up your personal freedoms for and this is what you deserve for electing Dim's such as these.

Yes, and they take pleasure in hurting people, and the power that they have right now.

90% of city, state and federal workers are talentless and useless. The man mowing the baseball fields for the parks and rec dept has more marketable skills than most paper pushers in the city office. Many times that will include the mayor.

Show me where they have worked. And, if you agree that it's after the peak, how have they worked?
I'm not sure if you realize, but the areas under the "worst case" and "flattened" curve are the same. All those efforts have done is prolong the misery.
There have also been more than one paper that indicated that mitigation efforts had no effect on number of deaths.
Including this one out last week.

Stringency of the measures settled to fight pandemia, including lockdown, did not appear to be linked with death rate.

While both the President and Congress lack the power to directly order the States to reopen their economies, the Federal government could try directly ordering businesses and individuals out of their homes and back into active commerce. Under Jackson’s concurrence in Youngstown, the President’s power is at its strongest when acting under Congressional authorization. A direct order to individuals and businesses could come from the Commerce Clause power under Art. 1, § 8, cl. 3, of the Constitution. The Commerce Clause, a legislative power, allows the federal government “to regulate commerce…among the several states.” To invoke this power, the President would need Congressional authorization. In theory, Congress could find that stay-at-home and business closure Executive Orders that Governors have made interfere with interstate commerce. The orders might then be found unconstitutional by a reviewing court.
Feels like there could be a way
