Public health officials have announced that outdoor dining at restaurants across Los Angeles County will shut down on Wednesday, November 25. The modification of the county’s public health order was announced on Sunday, November 22, and takes effect on Wednesday at 10 p.m., after which restaurants will only be able to offer takeout meals or delivery. During this period, there will be no on-site dining of any kind, indoors or out, for at least three weeks.

less than a fricking week before turkey day, which is a huge day for restaurants across california. Think of all the owners who worked their asses off the last few weeks setting up outdoor dining areas for T-day.

I am convinced that our public health bureaucracy in america is staffed by socially awkward people who couldn't make it in private sector.

Staffed by people who were stuffed in lockers in high school and grew to hate the world. Either they actively like to see these establishments suffer, or they lost their sympathy for the world long ago.

same type of people who work the dmv.

I cannot stand technocracy. It is as big a threat as any other movement/societal system out there.

If it saves one life, it's worth it.

No risk is too small. We can't take any chances.

They're all on luxury vacations right now or gonna be eating catered Thanksgiving meals behind the gates of their multi million dollar mansions.

I worked at LA Dept or Health and Hospitals at one point. The people with any real talent never stay.

The good ones are poached elsewhere and the only ones left circle the drain or are idealists/communists. Like the current crew running things over there.

They quit fricking with you when they start having to worry about being stabbed in the neck and head with a ball bearing compass or shot to death

As always, mitigation measures will have no true effect on spread and have likely been enacted after the peak.

I honestly thought this was all over. Washington as a state got shut down this last Wednesday night. I really don’t understand how restaurants survive during these times. It’s absolutely asinine

We should stop driving cars, too. There is a risk of death Every time someone gets behind a wheel. Shut everything down.

Have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone paying taxes to the city, county, or state from LA

Hope they suffer crushing life blows

It's true.

No risk is an acceptable risk. Life must be preserved at all costs
