looting

You damn well know a good number of those looters are doing it because they want free stuff. They’re just using the murder as cover/excuse to do so.

This is true.....And they think doing it will bring them justice?????
I think it gets tiring having to beg for justice over and over.

NO.... It will mean more free stuff while we go crazy over someone we never knew but hey why not get some while I can......
So you can only get mad when something happens to someone you know? You don't think a lot of people DO know someone to whom something similar happened?

So you are saying you should loot and burn your city down because you are mad? I’ve never had the desire to steal or become an arsonist because I’m pissed.

What is the evidence that justice won't happen in this case?

What the cop did was illegal, and he will be jailed.

Is that not "justice"?

Punishing someone for taking the life of an innocent person is the definition of justice.

The fact they're burning and looting businesses that have dick all to do with the incident that happened?
The same thing has happened countless times throughout history, and will likely continue to happen forever. Education/intelligence go out the window when people aren't treated fairly.

It's easy to think you wouldn't do the same thing in that situation, but you are more than likely wrong.

Similar to what started this incident?

No. Such things are exceedingly rare.

Maybe if collectivists would distort the issue it would be an issue.

Police violence is an issue, but it's a myth they're out to get black people.

Some of our worst demons are imagined.

So when the system sends armed individuals to display force to a magnitude not shown yet are you going to cry wolf?

This guy is pretty awesome. He's confronting looters and calling them out on it.

I actually don't really question the premise that black people have more unjustified and negative interactions with the police.

And I get why that is problematic and frustrating for those who don't deserve it. But it completely skips over the question of "why" - and the answer, in large part, isn't "because cops are out to get black people" or "because cops hate black people."

It's probably the product of lived experience which leads to prejudices, some irrational, some not. And there is a huge swath of this country that tells minorities that their lived experiences are more important than data, while everyone else's lived experiences are invalid and we should pretend they don't exist.

What specific law could a state or national govt pass that would stop this?
There is no law that could stop it. You can't force people to treat one another fairly. You can't force people to like one another. These things are human nature, too.

I'm just saying it's easy to ignore or minimize the impact of racism/profiling/oppression/whatever you want to call it if you aren't the victim of it. Most would rather blame the media boogeyman for exposing the problem rather than admit that there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Looting/destroying property is unacceptable under ANY circumstance.
Hm. Tell me, what options do people have when their pleas for justice go ignored?

What about war? Is it ok to kill people and destroy property as long as you declare war first? Does it matter who is "right"?

It gives them the right to be pissed off.

I have not once condoned looting or destroying property. I have only said that it is human nature, as evidenced by history.

this is a 100% accurate, and explains why there have been numerous examples of unjust treatment of blacks at the hands of black officers.
