I'd be OK with all baby food/diaper products being tax-exempt but the feminine hygiene stuff has me scratching my head

Why?

The state already exempts from sales tax other essentials, Morrell noted, like prescription drugs.

Tax exempt tampons Typical p*ssy pandering, means nothing. Prescriptions are tax exempt at the state level but they are taxed locally - 4.25% in St. Tammany, 3% in BR. The only other state that allows this is Illinois.

Da parish still gonna tax those tampons.

If getting rid of taxes is a good thing, then why do we keep raising them?

Ah yes, more feel good legislation that doesn’t really do sh!t. But every politician who votes for it will be touting it as advancing women’s right and looking out for minorities.

And ignorant voters will eat it up.

This is stupid, something rich states can do. We're not. We can't afford to miss out on revenue like this

I don’t have a problem with this. Not like women choose to have periods.

I am tired of all these ridiculous exemptions in all our tax codes.

Tax it all at lower rates and be done with it.

Morrell and JBE are joined at the hip. Anyone for voting for either one of them is an idiot.

What is that, about 4%?

When the state has those “tax free” hurricane supply days, the Parish still gets their money..

So does this mean I should be expecting tax exempt status on these items?

Boy it's a good thing we have the important issues in mind this session. Tax free tampons and prohibition of the use of the names broccoli rice and almond milk is life changing legislation for all of us.

The average woman who uses tampons will save about $1.20/month if she uses Tampax Pearl, a leading brand/model.

The ladies sure do know how to pick their battles, don't they?

I'm just so thankfully for the wisdom of our elected officials. It is not easy to act with such courage in the face of great adversity.
