NOLA is currently ahead of last year's pace as the first month of the year draws to a close. 24 murders as of today, compared to last year's 22.

you guys are giving entirely too much credit here. This is targeted hits on guys they catch on the interstate. There’s not some sniper sitting in abandoned buildings picking off people. I drive the east to / from work everyday. It’s a hell hole and you’ll see two cars weaving in and out of traffic chasing each other all the time when I’m on the way to Metairie in the evening.

There is no serial sniper in New Orleans. Look at the different locations the shootings have occurred. There is also no ballistics evidence that these came from a rifle or other long range high powered gun. These are close range pistols.
