If you get to it early enough there's a chance they can just lance it give you an antibotic and maybe it won't come back again.

I had no intention of googling pics until you said that. Then I had to. Thanks.

Yeah it’s about a 2 inch wide hole below your tailbone all the way to your bone

It’s things like this that make me thank my great grandfather for impregnating a Native America woman and blessing all us offspring with very little body hair. Who cares if we can’t grow a full beard. It’s not worth a giant butt pimple.

I don't think it was technically a pilonidal cyst, but I did have a cyst removed in that same area. They stitched me up and I still have the little scars at the top of my butt lol. It wasn't a pleasant experience though that's for sure.

And yes a general surgeon would be who would perform it.

Oh and no I do not have a hairy arse situation going on lol.

I had one of these bad boys for years. Delayed the surgery due to fears and disturbing stories online. However, once I finally did it, it was fine.

The doc stitched it up but it got infected a few days later and he then had to cut the stitches open, and I had to pack my new b-hole with gauze every day, but wasn’t that big of a deal.

A true pilonidal cyst is left open not stitched. Its literally a wide open hole, there is nothing to stitch. It has to organically heal from the bottom up(no pun intended).

BTW i was 5'11 150 normal 19 year old when I got mine. Not very hairy

I had one removed in 2007. It takes a long time to heal all the way but it was worth it.

Ok yes. It was weird because it was like the exact same location as a pilonidal cyst, but I guess I just got lucky with a normal one.

Sidenote: My college girlfriend came to visit me a week after my surgery. She stayed at the house a few days and one of my finest achievements was having full sexual relations all while having gauze shoved up my arse. It was very slow

I do this surgery, but not in Louisiana. The best results , with low recurrence, are to undergo General anesthesia, inject the ingrown hair pores with methylene blue, excise all tracts, and leave wound open to heal by secondary intent( just gradually fills in in a few months. Do not put peroxide on a wound. Just some neosporin and a dressing till healed. You can close the skin, but that close to the anus, high infection rates.; although, if lucky, heals quicker. I don’t like this method, though, cause when it’s stitched up, you bring the hair back to midline, and risk recurrence

I had one removed about 5 years ago. It will be more painful than you’re led to believe. I didn’t shite for four days. My family finally roofied me with laxatives. I also was semi-addicted to opiates for 2-3 months afterwards. Good luck.

Mine wasn't quite this bad, but it was a horrific experience.

I found a doc at St Vincent's here in Bham to do it. I was in my late 20's and didn't know any better. Showed up and got on the table. Doc gave me a local and that's it. What I didn't realize until later is that infect tissue doesn't react with anesthesia or if it does, it's not enough.

Anyway, Dr Mengele proceeds to scalpel that thing open. It explodes and sends funk everywhere. This is easily the most painful experience of my life. In keeping with the torture, Mengele then puts all his weight into this cyst getting all the stuff out. Thank God he had a nurse there who gave me a wet towel for my head. People talk about passing out from the pain. I almost did that day. It's amazing that I didn't puke or pass out. Pretty sure I was crying.

Well...... It just gets better! Mengele then 'packs' the big arse hole he created with about 3' of iodine coated tape. This is topped off with a half assed adult diaper. That's it. You're done. I had no idea it was going to be this bad or that I would be in that bad of shape. I had driven myself there and the only way to get home was to drive back. Luckily I didn't kill anyone.

So about that iodine tape. It needed to be pulled out a couple of inches a day, cut, and resealed until it was gone. This was to prevent infection and also to keep it draining. My wife throws up at the thought of blood, so she's out. I have to stand with my arse in the mirror and reach back to pull this out and cut it. I still have a nice hole back there.

Turns out this was replaced as the most painful experience of my live when I had a parotidectomy to remove a tumor from my skull. Good times. Good times.

In short, prepare for pain. Do not settle for a local anesthetic. Request full sedation.
