Tyler has more stuff to do, is better developed, and has better growth potential.

Those things are exactly why I want to get out of suburbiaville and stumbled upon Longview

Then I think Whitehouse would serve you better. It's closer to Tyler than Longview and right next to Lake Tyler.

It’s not bad, one thing I’ve noticed recently are more Asian massage places opening up

I live in Tyler for the past ten years and I love it

Honestly they aren’t all that different.

If you have kids, then make a decision on the better school board district. If you decide to be around Longview then I’d choose the Sabine school district if I were you (if public school is the only option)

Bullard, flint, whitehouse, and Lindale aren’t too bad. Gladewater is the shits

Well in that case Longview is better yes. Just keep your kids busy or they might end up being meth heads

Just make sure your last name isn’t Gore. Some folks nearby will want to do bad things to you.

I watched a crack deal go down there from a hotel lobby. They didn't seem to be all that interested in hiding it either. It was a good while back and I was kind of shocked it was just in broad daylight.

I live in Baton Rouge though, and since then have seen hundreds of them go down. So I guess there's that.

All I know is you can see a long ways there.

Had an ex move there and she liked it a lot. Enough to gain about 50 pounds.

Great place to raise a family. Pizza King has the best pizza. Small town atmosphere but large enough to have things to do. Beautiful pines, dogwoods and oaks.

Pizza King was probably the only redeeming quality

This. But I find it overrated.

The best thing about Longview is

A. You aren't in Louisiana
2. You are closer to real bbq

There’s nothing there. It’s just another rinky-dinky town in Texas

Been in Longview the past 20 years. It’s a great place to live and has seen noticeable improvement since first landing here, with future improvements planned. But the whole Longview/Tyler area is a good place to settle down. My only knock on Tyler is the traffic. It absolutely sucks.

Down south Broadway, yeah, but it’s easy compared to Baton Rouge

Where does Longview land on the OT scale of places to live?

Probably lower than Tyler. I would move there if I had a choice.

Longview is pretty good and Tyler isn’t far. They are supposed to be building a FRESH by Brookshires in Longview too which will be nice.
