I do not like pets of any kind and even I understand dogs are a part of many people’s family.

I am the same and I respect people who love and want pets as long as their pet frienldiness does not intrud on my quality of life.

As for the orignal post it seems stopping and approaching a stray German shephard would put you in potential danger of being attacked and bitten.

It is a shame we are allowing it to happen.

Wow. Thats not uncommon either. She just didn’t have the gall to say she didn’t want him anymore. I hope you find a solution. Thank you again for helping.

(1) Maybe you can take some good photos and post here with a description of personality etc and someone will adopt. Just be sure whomever you adopt to (anywhere, not just l from this board) you ask for vet name and check vet references and do a drive by of their home to confirm their address matches their drivers license. Bonus points if they have pets and you can meet the pets to see if they are happy and healthy. That’s a lot to do, but I used to help in rescue and there’s a lot of monsters who look nice on paper but harm animals out there.

(2) You could also ask a local rescue if they will take in if you can foster since you already have the dog. They can advertise and will handle expenses.

Thanks to all. I've been communicating with the group referenced on page 1 of this thread. They looked for the dog this morning, with no success. Apparently, the dog has been lost (not dumped) and people in the community have been searching. The dog looked to be in bad shape yesterday.
