I just finished a really good book called "Why the Universe is the Way it is".
Hugh Ross is the author.
It is not light reading, but he does a good job of breaking down the facts so that it is understandable for the average person.
I highly recommend it for anyone interested in such things.

What is on the x and y axis? I can guess time on the Y. But what is on x? Distance of some sort? And what about the part of the universe we can't see because it is farther away than the age of the universe?
