Attorney Roger Jordan said the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office told his client’s family that the property, which has an appraised value of more than $600,000, could only be valued for purposes of a bond at its assessed value, which is $240,000.

The accused was trying to sell his property for $225k in 2015.

I assume he couldn’t get that.

I want to see a copy of the appraisal that shows it's 600K.

Did Higgins appraise it himself?

600K

Unless they were talking other, additional property directive in the family owns.

If someone with a license or certification appraised it at 600K, someone needs to be taken before a discipline board

nothing in the articles referenced Higgins as a Tulane fan. Is that assumed or is that guy somehow known as a Tulane fan?

He certainly deserves to stay in jail, what a stupid reason to kill someone over.

As a previous poster in this thread wrote, that’s an older part of Metairie, but it’s not Old Metairie.

I’m sure realtors that sell in that area call it Old Metairie.

Agreed. You don’t take someone’s life over disagreements and an invitation to a water fight.

Big Lee owned the towing operation, and where he is there’s no bail.

Sure, that's the heart of Old Metry, but I highly doubt anyone would consider Farnham and Oakridge as outside of OM.

However, everyone can agree that anything north of I-10 is not in contention.
