Agreed, but i think *if* the cumcakes thing is true- then you’re talking about dozens and dozens of kids being directly affected, maybe over a hundred kids being exposed to possible diseases, etc.... as opposed to however many they actually diddled, which is (hopefully) a much lower number.

Good, I’m glad theyre officially looking into it.. but i think the investigation is a case of there being enough ‘smoke’ that they want to see if there’s any actual ‘fire’.. in terms of the cupcake thing specifically, not the other stuff like rape and filming it, of which there seems to be little doubt occurred

What I figure is that this shite being confirmed probably tightens the noose around Sheriff Ard, who looked the other way on all Lt Baw’s crap and overruled a polygraph to hire him.

The investigators have seen all the evidence they have. If they are alerting parents then it did happen. Also if multiple sources are confirming they are looking into the accusation then there is likely some proof cumcakes really were served.

Also, after watching that showtime documentary, Murder in the Bayou on the Jennings 8, and how the Jeff Parish Sheriff handled everything, I can’t imagine anyone being able to force Ard out. It really does sound like these parish Sheriffs are untouchable.

There’s either video evidence in their home and school or there isn’t. Seems there’s no other way to prove or disprove this allegation.

Not being from LA the power of the sheriff is something I am not used to, powerful yes to a degree but this concept of them being the omnipotent power of the parish/county is foreign to me. That said I have a neighbor down here steeped in LA politics and while he thinks Ard should go he simply said "He will leave when he wants, and not before that". Reading the pumpers on FB I am thinking he is right.

I would think a parent that has been contacted would have put the info on FB
Maybe that’s why WBRZ doesn’t have the story on their FB

A rural sheriff is more than a law enforcement officer. He collects the taxes. He can give your brother in law a job, he can send a deputy to give your meemaw a ride to her dr appointment. He can send his inmate crew to cut the grass at your church. He has no boss. He doesnt answer to anyone but the voters.

In a parish like Livingston, he likely answers to a small group of very powerful backers who could say “call it a career.”
There is also potential, depending on this case, for someone who’s family was harmed due to Ard hiring Lt Baw to blame him and possibly act out on that.

Nobody should have put out the story of the investigation into the cum cakes. The last thing the public needs to know is junior high kids being victimized in such a manner. If I were one of the victims parents I would never tell my child if investigators told me it indeed did happen. Sometimes things are better off left unknown.
