No shite. What kind of bull is this? Still a very hot topic. I just got word that someone high up at the State Police said they did NOT investigate the incident that Ard said they investigated.
Edit: Unanchored apparently

I am seeing plenty of Ard people on facebook call for his resignation. After the 3 strikes i've seen with this Ard-Perkins friendship, I'd say he has no other choice but to resign. This makes the entire department look suspect and as the head of a law enforcement agency he should realize he's keeping this dark shadow on the entire department. I'd cut ties now if I were him before Perkins, facing life in prison, starts looking for a parole possibility in the way of selling out his brother and close friend, Jason Ard. Get out while the gettin's good.

Agreed.
Ard served as a character witness for Dennis - after he knew he committed theft per a previous employer. Which now looks to be minor overall.

WAFB
This has nothing to do with the restraining order, right?
quote:
Ard says, in 2014, a man came to him to say he believed his own wife was having a possible affair with Perkins. And, he also believed that Perkins had acted inappropriately with a young girl, the sheriff said.
says the man reported Perkins was home watching a movie when two young girls climbed in bed with him. All of them were clothed.
quote:
The sheriff said Monday that after WAFB-TV asked him about the alleged incident last week, he asked Louisiana State Police to interview the man again and they did. “Upon Perkins’ recent arrest, out of an abundance of caution, LSP revisited the allegation,” Slaton said. “Last week, LSP confirmed that no criminal act occurred in 2014.”
quote:
The sheriff says there was never any allegation by the man of sexual misconduct or molestation of a juvenile. Ard says the man did “not want a formal investigation or to file a formal complaint with our office.”
This has nothing to do with the restraining order, right?

Bold move, getting an attorney that looks to handle mainly immigration cases.
What's your opinion of attorneys that advertise an AVVO rating on their profile? Seems desperate and amateur hour.

Separate incident.
2002 - Admitted to being a thief on a polygraph. LPSO hires him anyway.
2011 - Restraining order served by LPSO, then later Lori Steele from LPSO told Nakamoto they couldnt provide any details to a document they've never seen
2014 - BRPD officer tells Ard that Perkins is banging is old lady and potentially fondling his teenaged daughter. Ard claims the LSP investigated it and found no evidence of wrong doing.

Why would anyone go to the boss of the guy his wife is diddling? And why does it matter? Sensationalism? The restraining order is relevant and generally has an impact on an officer's employment, but not this time.

The BR officer said that his complaint had nothing to do with any sort of affair. The only reason he went to meet with Ard was to tell him about Perkins climbing into bed with his stepdaughter and another young female at a sleepover. It also came out that previously, Perkins would chase the girl(s) into a room, lock the door, and play “tickle monster.” He said that his wife and stepdaughter were at a gas station and Perkins did a “slow roll” past them, which is intimidation. He thinks that Ard might’ve confused him with another complaint in regards to the affair. Nak’s interview w/ Ard will be live tomorrow at 10am... Nak’s gonna go in dry

At this point, it's not a matter of whether or not Perkins broke the law. It's purely a matter of the head of a police agency not being able to see the telltale signs of a problem officer. Or being able to see them but putting your friendship above the safety of the children you are sworn to protect. Ard has, himself, become a distraction and liability to the office. Time for him to go.
