Where's that?
I would go to the Winn Dixie sometimes for their $4 lunch plate.

Uh aren’t both those places like about 10 minutes away from PC?
BSL is right across the bridge. OS is about 30 minutes east.

Of all the places on the coast, I think I like Ocean Springs the best. I like that small downtown, the festical they have and that beach park.
I had never been to Ocean Springs until a couple of years ago. Really neat small city.

We spent last weekend there, it definitely has some strong points. It has better bars than BSL, better shops, and overall more properties in the sweet spot of town...but BSL being on the water, with the harbor just has a bit better vibe. OS attracts a touch nicer crowd, but Old Towne BSL has a more eclectic mix of folks...less homogeneous than OS.
BSL being really close to NOLA, with a great drive down old 90, pushes it over the top for places to live. Probably just depends on the weekend which one is better to visit.

Is that the one set up under the old Brackish building?
I didn't know it was open already.

The house I didn't buy in the pass last year is on 8 foot stilts. During Katrina, the surged reached almost to the peak. 1 story house. Owner showed me the water lines.
Every other house on the street washed away. He gutted the house and rebuilt it.

Ok. When you said market I was thinking of what they're doing with the old Brackish location.
Harbor Market or something like that.

I visit a few times every year. We have family there. It’s a nice and quiet place to live. There are a few restaurants I like to frequent. The casino is big and not far away. It’s nothing super exciting, but I would be happy living there.
ETA: Lots of fishing to do, boating, water sports, whatever you can do in the water. The only downside that I can see is if a big hurricane comes your way, be prepared to lose it all. There are still some empty lots that used to have nice houses until Katrina.

The Mississippi coast is really underrated. We have a condo between Gulfport and Biloxi and love it.
Nice children’s museum in Gulfport. Building a brand new aquarium.
Bay St.Louis is full of NOLA people. Very cool area near the water.
Bunch of good golf courses.

OP here. Thanks, so much, for all the replies. A number of people apparently like Ocean Springs. Can anyone recommend specific neighborhoods in, or areas of, Ocean Springs? Thanks again.

The closest Sonic is about 8 miles away. If you need to handle some bidness you may have to do it in the street like a common barbarian.

My brother lives in the historical district on scenic drive. His house was over 100 years old when Katrina hit. It was wiped out. He sort of rebuilt, but we had to fight the Cory and the historical society about the house he rebuilt. The historical society is a gigantic pain the arse. You are correct the main draw is the water. My brother never had kids so can’t really speak about the school system.

It's impossible to live in Pass Christian. You slowly die.

The "Hystericals" in Pass Christian have quite the reputation. On the one hand, I get the whole "preservation" mentality. On the other hand, it's hard to swallow being told what you can and can't do to your own property.
If your brother's home was completely wiped out, rebuilding should have been easy. With Nothing left to restore, there should have been minimal historical society hassle. (I think there are style and minimum size restrictions, but nothing compared to the BS a historical home owner is typically subjected to.)
The Katrina flooding was strange along East Scenic. Although it seems generally flat, there are some variances in elevation. My aunt got about 4' or 5' of water in her house that was ~30" above grade. Neighbors a few doors west got little or no water. Neighbors immediately to the east had their homes destroyed. A few blocks further east, homes had no water at all in them.

My gf's family lives in the part south of downtown. Other than a few scattered crappy houses, it's pretty nice
