Perhaps we should tell the tiger to act more humanely.

What's the big deal? Feeding snakes mice is ok right?

I worked at Audubon Zoo during the summers when I was in high school. All the reptiles were fed mice and rabbits that were dead. This is done for a few reason:

1. Easier to store reptile food this way
2. No chance of a reptile getting injured when killing prey
3. Makes for a less aggressive animal

It's not the tigers' fault at all and I don't blame them for acting like tigers. There is just a reason why zoos don'f feed live animals to other animals...and if they did they never would in front of the public. China is a fricked up place with absolutely zero empathy toward animals.

In fairness, this isn't part of some lesson about the ecosystem.

It's just a bunch of pissed off assholes chucking some donkey into the tiger's cage because...I don't know. They're nucking futs, I guess.

I don't necessarily disagree with this, but we and the Chinese keeps wild animals as pets in our zoos. These wild animals will and do kill for food.

If we don't like the idea of them killing for food perhaps they shouldn't be in a place (like the zoo) where everyone can see how they kill, then be shocked when they do so.

Call me callous, but I don't necessarily see the big deal with feeding a wild animal live food.

The issue isn't the fact that they fed a live donkey to tigers. It's why they fed the donkey to tigers.

They didn't do it because it was natural or normal or circle of life crap. They did it out of spite towards the zoo management. Some poor donkey was ripped to shred because of employee-management dispute. That's a little fricked up

They do this all the time in China. There's a tiger park where you can literally feed them live chicken and cattle: LINK

Man, the Chinese REALLY don't care about animal cruelty.
how is that being cruel? In the wild the tigers have to hunt and chase their meal. Here they basically put lobster on the buffet.

Eh, it's a domesticated animal being thrown to animals that likely still have mostly wild temperament.

I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but it's pretty shitty.

I think the thing that bothers me about this is that an animal that probably relied on humans for food and safety was tossed into a fricking tiger pit for sport. Now as a society we eat animals who rely on humans all the time, but I suspect their harvesting is usually a little less fricked up.

Circle of life

ehhh, I don't think the circle of life is about one animal being forced into a confined area with another animal that wants to eat the former.

There isn't much "natural" about this.
