The guy who posted it is from India and his English spelling tendencies show this. Whether he made the meme or not, it's not only false from a factual standpoint, but from a "moral" standpoint. 'If my dad was poor, you have to be too.'

Except that his dad, William Gates II, was not poor. He was a very successful attorney in Seattle. Not big-time rich but law firm partner rich, certainly not poor.

Bill Gates' father was a big-shot lawyer and his mother was on the board at First Interstate Bank. He was the product of an immense amount of money.
