I don't honk my horn at all because the honking of horns is painful to my ears and few things will get me quicker to a rage than someone honking when I'm standing near their cars.

3 seconds...however i've gotten so sick and tired of motherfrickers taking their sweet arse time, and there's alot of them, that I make it a point at every opportunity by taking my very sweet arse time to frick with those behind me regardless of who they are.

This brings up something that happened to me this weekend.. I was being tailgated by someone on a two lane highway, so I slowed down so they could safely pass - as it appeared they were in a huge hurry and all. Anyway, the guy proceeded to stare me down as he passed, rolled down his window, and flipped me off once he got in front of me only to slow down to a crawl.

I got pulled over in Oklahoma one time for "driving erratically" when I drove friendly to let a car behind me pass on a one lane highway.
Apparently the folks in the car behind me called the police. Cop and I shared a chuckle since he was also from Texas

I don't understand it. I didn't even brake, I just let off the accelerator slightly. I thought I was being kind to someone being an a-hole. People that tailgate are the worst. I've always said if I owned a business, especially one that specialized in customer interactions, I'd make it a requirement to be a passenger in their car. You can tell a lot about people by the way they conduct themselves behind the wheel as well as the condition of their car interior. Considerate and level headed or a self-centered a-hole. There rarely seems to be any in between.

3 seconds is reasonable.
On the flip side, if you're being an inpatient a-hole and lay on the word after a second on me I hit the breaks and stop for a good five seconds.

Because people are increasingly becoming entitled azzholes that think they have the right to do what they want at all times without any consequences. Me and the GF went eat sushi a while back. Drive in to the parking lot and some white trash looking dude backs out without looking and nearly hits me. I blew the horn. Dude instead of waiting for me to pass, continues to back out and flies off. As I'm parking and getting out I notice him drive in huge circle just double back roll down his window give me the bird and say frick you. Couldn't do anything but laugh
