"Life expectancy is the statistical average number of years a person is expected to live based on their birth year..."
as well as other factors, which is why I posted the years of my parents births.

My statement was not imprecise.
Your logic is flawed.

There is no comparable country. We are our own unique fried chicken eating and beer drinking island of poor health choices
So we enjoy life in America, while other nations citizens don't. There's living, and then there's just being alive.

This is the average and accounts for all deaths including infants, children, young adults, etc. It also accounts for the high rate of murders in the US relative to other countries.
The good news is that as you get older (overcoming premature death) the age at which you statistically are expected to die (actuarial age) goes up significantly. For instance, if you make it to 65 you are expected to live until 85.

No, your statement was very imprecise. The way your sentence read could easily be mistaken.
Not if you read the OP. The whole thread is about life expectancy at birth.

In 2024, life expectancy at birth in the U.S. increased to an all-time high of 79.0 years

It was a joke, not a dick. Don’t take it so hard.

You kid but apparently dementia and diabeetus drugs actually prolong life, so we are living longer and the last years quality of life is worse than it's ever been.

When social security was instituted here, life expectancy was almost 62.

However, the average life expectancy in comparable countries was 82.7 years, about 3.7 years longer than in the U.S., reflecting a persistently wide difference in life expectancy between the U.S. and comparable countries
There are way too many variables to make this a valid comparison. From murder and suicide rates, to auto accidents, to long-term care and end-of-life health-care policies. Even aborting babies with genetic problems, which happens in other countries, is a factor.
