Anxiety meds were tweaked recently. I only take two. I've posted on many anxiety threads and had one recently where I essentially had an "oh shite" panic attack. Folks were generally helpful on here with the occasional expected "suck it up pussy" comments.

I've recently (4-6 months) changed docs. The new place is a mill essentially. I see a PA or an NP only. This week a new NP comes in. I've taken Wellbutrin and valium as needed for a long time now. She chimes in about Valium. "Let's talk about it". I know that means "I ain't writing for that shite". She makes a valid point that if my use of Valium is increasing it might be time for a change. I figure she may be right and I am open for a change.

Now I'd like input from prescribers and poor bastards like me. Here I see what she did. Change Wellbutrin ("poor choice for anxiety") to Zoloft. And change Valium 5mg to klonipin 0.5mg. She feels while All are ripe for abuse, but Valium is worse than klonipin to her?

A. I've seen plenty of people on Klonipin who were sketchy? Is it a better option than Valium in the opinion of the OT? FYI Valium never gave me a buzz, just go from freaking out to normalized. Maybe if I take 20 freaking milligrams, but I stick with 5.

B. Stopping Wellbutrin and starting Zoloft. Will my dick still work? Will I withdraw from Wellbutrin? I am slowly stopping the Wellbutrin and starting the Zoloft.

FTR as I type this, I took a Klonipin an hour ago. I think she is full of shite. I feel it. Maybe it's all in my imagination? Just took a 0.5mg?

Anyway TLDR.

Ib4 "suck it up pussy".

Ib4 "beta".

Seems like a good question for your doctor.

I take Celexa (better antidepressent for anxiety) and Xanax as needed.
Never taken Wellbutrin but I've heard its pretty mild. I've also never taken klonipin and only taken Valium before a couple surgeries.
The celexa seems to be working good and having the Xanax with me helps also. I rarely have to take it knowing I have it on me if I do have a panic attack. Thats something I know helps a lot of people. Keep it at work, in your vehicle etc. Just knowing its there is a huge relief for you.
If I do take Xanax its a .5mg. Doesn't make me loopy but definitely calms the nerves if I'm in a panic attack. I've been prescribed it almost 10 years now and have never felt addicted to it but I'm also very careful not to abuse it.

ETA: If you aren't already aware my doctor said if you're having a panic attack already let the Xanax dissolve under your tongue. It will take effect faster that way.

Seek talk therapy. Many losers think a drug or a change in place, employment, girlfriend, will make you feel better. But the problem is between your ears.

U.S. octogenarians were recently polled on what makes them happy. Most of them said that happiness is a choice, not something you acquire through life, like wealth.

as sokmeone who lives with and has been diagnosed with anxiety, I go without the meds.

I did the medication thing for a month (first week on them waa rough as hell)

after that month I decided to not refill my script and try to live without the medication as I don't like being dependant on things to function.

anyway

KPs are not strong banks, especially if you have a tolerance to them.

I've only done some bullshite benzo I was prescribed (worked well enough for what I needed) but from what I gather from those around me that like to party with Xanax and KPs, Xanax is better.

I've never personally been around or took Vallium (or KPs honestly)
