Man im sorry.. i work in mental health, and also have had some anxiety issues of my own. Changing meds can be tricky.. if you have ANY negative side effects call the dr immediately. For me a big trick for anxiety was taking control, and stayinf busy. Workout, do things outside when you get home from work/school. Just keep bus, and idled mind is torture for someome with anxiety. And when you do feel it start creeping in, just know that its anxiety. It cant hurt you.. yes this is easier said than done.. but it can happen, if you take control and you will have more good days than bad!

If you are using valium daily you have a problem

I'm on Welbutrin SR 150mg's twice a day, Buspar 15mg three times a day, and Klonapin 0.5mg one and a half times a day.

I've never been on Valium, so I can't compare, but the Klonapin seems to work. I read how some people take it "when needed," but I take a full pill in the morning and a half a pill at lunch. I was told with such a low dose there should be no withdraw affects.

I've been on this routine for about a year, and it took a year experimenting with different drugs before I found a good combination.

I did take one medicine (can't remember the name now) that didn't affect my hard-ons, but it did take forever to bust a nut. That's okay in some situations, but at other times when you want a "quickie" before work it sucks.

Don't be afraid to try different things, and if it doesn't work or gives you adverse side affects talk to your doctor and try something else. Some chemistries work good for some people and not for others- for instance pseudoephedrine makes me sleepy and Benedryl hypes me up. Try different combos until you find one that works for you.

I was prescribed Ambien for years, but wanted to get off of it because I didn't like how dependent I was on it. I tried about four other meds to help me sleep, and finally got on Klonopin.

I only take it at night to give my brain a break, and actually get some sleep. Personally, I love it. Doesn't make me feel cracked out, and I function fine on it...and able to sleep great with no grogginess the next day.

I started taking it probably about 6 or 7 years ago with a dosage of 1mg and now up to 2mg, but now starting to back it down to about 1.5mg and hopefully back down to about 1mg again.

If I go without it for 2-3 days, I definitely get withdrawals...and they fricking suck...but, it's a Benzo, so to be expected. This is the main reason I'm starting to back it down - I don't like medication dependency.

So yeah, Klonopin has been great for me.

In seriousness it's supposed to be very helpful for the profoundly suicidal. I posted a thread about these clinics a while back. Some of it will be for profoundly depressed, but it will (and has) creep into pain management and housewives just wanting a break. Until some idiot somewhere kills somebody.

yup...been off the benzos since july and won't be going back.was on and off of them for the last 5 yrs. but it affects your long term memory(for me anyway).i will just have to deal with the panic attacks like a man and pray i don't have a heart attack in the process.

Klonopin is believed to be the least addicting of the benzodiazepines of which Valium is one.

There is better than Wellbutrin for anxiety and panic attacks. Zoloft is one. It can cause sexual side effects for some.

I take generic Lexapro for generalized anxiety disorder and it works great. Laid back, appropriate levels of concern.

Valium Xanax Klonipin etc Diazepines and Benzodiazepines are not and were never meant for prolonged usage. They are meant for short term use until the Wellbutrin Zoloft Effexor or whichever take hold.
