I know we don't apply to your thread, but my wife is about to quit work and I think I'm more excited than she is.

I get so wrapped up in work at times, I can't keep track of the household stuff, kids' schedules, etc. She already does the majority of it since her job is very flexible, but having someone run the house is very appealing to me. I hope she doesn't get tired of it before the kids are older and more self sufficient.

It blows my mind that there are men who spend their young adult years looking for a wealthy woman to marry so they can one day quit work and chill at home all day. They dream of sleeping till noon then going to yoga class, then going shopping, then lounging around the pool the rest of the day.

If I had this setup I would not be doing yoga or sitting by the pool. I'd be pimping out my house and building furniture in my woodshop all day, every day.

Pecker found time to write this really long post on a workday. Ironic. It's a slow work day, Mortimer. I got paid to write that.

Who gives a frick what you think. It never ceases to amaze me at what arrogant judgmental twats some of you are.

You're a text book example of a liberal. (Whether or not you ARE one). Always focused on and worrying about what someone else does or has. And if you don't have it or agree with it, then by god it must be wrong and they should do it or have it either.

I feel like the stay at home dad thing would be cool for about a month then it would get really old.

Not really. You keep yourself busy with something.

I had some rental properties and did a good amount of day trading. I'd feel guilty if I sat around and did nothing while someone else provided everything. I think most people would. Again, the kids were the priority. Our opinion is/was that a parent needed to be there for the kids. We made sure that we did that. It just so happened at the time, my wife had the better job/career. If it had been the other way around, she would have stayed at home.

I don't think that you have ever actually opened a text book.

My thoughts exactly. If my wife enjoyed her job and had absolutely no concern about being overstressed and not wanting all pressure of being the provider.....and made ~350k a year.....I'd be very useful. Very useful in making sure the house stayed in order while doing whatever I wanted all the time.

Now if she felt stressed about being the only provider, or wanted someone to share the burden, I'd feel guilty and get my own $350k per year job as well.....

I stayed at home the first year of my sons life. I was looking for a job after 9 months. Your boss is an infant with zero reasoning skills. That shite was harder than being a CPA.

So you want people that don’t need jobs to take jobs so those who need jobs can’t get jobs? Makes sense.

Having your wife work while your small kids are in daycare is as trashy as it gets.
