Not what I wanted to see. Was hoping to have some cloud cover to limit heating and have somewhat of a cap.
It's a very pretty picture at least. Hopefully you guys avoid the worst of it later today.

Just looked at camera footage of our lakehouse and looks like our entire back patio collapsed last night. Definitely saw 2 large beams fall.
Oh damn, that sucks. Sorry to hear that.
Wind damage, fallen tree, etc.?

I had a tornado hit as I was picking up the kids in Mansfield, Texas. ( DFW) It was scary, not something I'd want any Mom to go through. School should be canceled/virtual, the risk is far too high.

Yikes. Today has the potential to be one of those infamous days especially for MS. Everyone stay safe today this is nothing to joke about and don’t be on the road in it. It will be powerful, and cells and the line will be fast moving and can come up on you quickly

Neighbors suspect a weak tornado. Heavy furniture and fire pits tossed around, entire deck roof down with beams tossed across house and neighbors’ yards, jet skis out of bays…
All in all, luckier than many communities but not ideal by any means. Full time residents are getting more pics of damage for us weekend owners as the sun comes up. Praying the Marina is still sound as that would be the biggest issue.
Guess we are getting a new deck out of it.

Whatever came through I slept through it haha. Hope everyone back east makes it out okay today.
It woke me up about 2-3am. Huge clap of thunder followed by about 15-20 minutes of wind driven rain and lightning.

Really surprised we don’t have an upgrade to high risk yet this

RadarScope shows no rain anywhere near me. SPC main page shows convection over me. My phone weather app says it’s raining right now. Yet I’m out here and the sun is shining and haven’t got a drop of rain

You are more likely to see a downgrade

The cars in these pictures aren't thrill seekers or storm chasers...those are frantic mom's and dad's in line at the carpool entrance of an elementary school in Moore, OK in 2013.
Wasn’t it Enterprise, AL that lost students a few years back in a similar situation?

tornado warning for The Woodlands, Texas

I don’t like seeing all those small cells east of the main line in western Louisiana
That could spell trouble

Pretty sure Enterprise had students sheltering in the gym or auditorium (or similar) and took a direct hit. Don't recall anything about the carpool situation, but I'm sure it had a major influence on the closures we've seen in the last decade.

I dont remember if it was an auditorium (which is always a bad idea) or just in the hallways when an EF4 came over.
But yeah, that definately started the ball on the more cautious school closures we see today.

My son was supposed to have a field trip today but it got canceled.
Last night my wife broke the news to him. He asked why it was got canceled and she told him because it was going to rain (they were going to a zoo so they would have been stuck outside).
He said "Oh, so it's going to rain? Does that mean no school tomorrow?"
All we could do was laugh.
