people that say, "let's have that meeting", or "we can have that conversation".....while they are meeting with someone. WTF?? You are there, deal with it now.

The company I work for hired a douchenozzle a couple of years ago that was just full of crap like this. He would call me and say he just wanted to reach out to see if we could collaborate on a skillsets & do a deeper dive to flush out the big rocks but stay out of the weeds.

My least favorite of the overused buzzwords is leverage.
99% of the time you can just use the word "use".

To be fair on this one, synergy has an actual, real economic and financial definition that is precise and descriptive when properly used.
Agreed. Per Merriam-Webster:
quote:
Definition of synergy 1 : SYNERGISM broadly : combined action or operation 2 : a mutually advantageous conjunction or compatibility of distinct business participants or elements (such as resources or efforts)

Like debt to equity or debt to assets or quick ratio, etc, etc?

Email or call, frick this pantywaist reach out bullshite.
We have a winner.
I am indirectly involved with a business/sales group. Here is what they do a lot:
--They "reach out" to people
--They "touch base" with people
--They get mad when people from another department don't "stay in their lane"
And when I asked what happened to an administrative assistant who I noticed hadn't been around in a while, I was told "we're in transition".

No I mean in a non-financial conversation.
"We can just leverage an old presentation and update the figures"
I have been known to call people out on that.

"Happy Monday" fricking kills me. I don't hate Mondays, but they're not holidays. I hate that one.

So I think I'm occasionally guilty of this one.
But its because I don't know if I'll email/call/talk to their boss. I just know that in some form or fashion I will be "reaching out" to them.
Do you hate it when people say "let's stay in touch"?

It all started with redefining "opportunity" many years ago.
We don't have an "opportunity", we have a facking problem.

Well, me too, as it really is what we do. That said, I think it fit the OP's request.

I disagree.
A common vocabulary describing best practices and issues brings focus quickly.
More people are Les miles than saban.
The op is arguing for grunts and sign language.

Are you my client? I am inclined to postulate that these same discussions were had not a fortnite ago during a communications workshop with intentions of probing the business pillars most copacetic for messaging and customer-facing collateral.
